What is a Silhouette InstaLift?

In this article, we are going to discuss how people are using the new Silhouette InstaLift procedure as a non-invasive procedure to lift their brows, tighten the skin around their jaws, and hold up their cheek’s volume.

There are many of us who want the young look that a facelift may give us, but we may not necessarily have the time that it takes to recuperate after a facelift surgery. Even when early symptoms of loose skin detracts from your look and affects your self-esteem, there are many people who do not wish to have an invasive cosmetic surgery like a facelift.

What Is a Silhouette InstaLift?

The Silhouette InstaLift is becoming a promising new option for men and women because it is a non-surgical facelift. This face rejuvenation technique is a type of non-invasive surgery that provides instant results with minimum recovery time. This is achieved by putting easy-to-absorb materials into key spots of your face. This new procedure will actually use sutures to be able to lift tissues on your face.

Why Are People Seeking Facelift Procedures?

As we age, the muscles on our face lose tightness and we create wrinkles through muscle movement in the forehead between the eyes and the sides of the eyes. Doctors have been able to treat this in the past with Botox and Dysport. While many people have loved the results, these fillers only address the problem from one angle.

As we age, not only do our muscles lose tightness, but our faces lose volume from our bones shrinking over time. As our bones get smaller as we get older and we lose muscle mass in our face we will also lose fat in our face. This is mainly what causes the sagging and loss of volume.

In the past, doctors have used fillers like Botox and Dysport to replace volume. This does not necessarily fix your face from sagging. In the past, doctors have used oral therapies and radiofrequency therapies to treat this and have found mild improvements in face tightness. Unfortunately, the only other option in the past for this problem has been surgery or to use permanent sutures to lift the tissue.

Permanent sutures can create longer lasting complications and are not very popular amongst patients seeking facelift procedures.

The new procedure of Silhouette InstaLift has been a solution for many because doctors are able to lift the tissue in ways that they haven’t been able to before. It’s also very safe because they use sutures that are absorbable, which makes them temporary unlike the permanent sutures used in the past.

How Does a Silhouette InstaLift Work?

The Silhouette Instalift works by utilizing dissolving threads with a combination of small barbs and dissolving PDO (polydioxanone cones). As these materials dissolve, they end up creating more volume. Using this technique, your cosmetic surgeon can raise the midface and restore a more youthful look.

How Is It Done?

To start, a threaded needle is used to put a needle right underneath a layer of the skin tissue. It works by carefully placing threads with bi-directional cones to lift the tissues and then secure them in place. The barbs allow a transposition of tissue to create a lifting effect. These are used in many areas of the face including the mid-face, the jawline, and the neck. Patients are brought into the facility and the areas are marked. The marking is done asymmetrically. This is necessary in order to achieve the most symmetric results, since our bodies and faces are naturally asymmetrical.

As soon as the needles are positioned, it creates a threading pattern that provides a framework for new collagen production, resulting in longer lasting benefits. Currently, this procedure is only available from licensed practitioners, like Dr. Thomas Balshi

The Silhouette InstaLift Process

The facial area is sterilized and marked to indicate the ideal placement of the sutures. Then, local anesthesia is placed at the entry and exit points, creating a pain-free procedure. The face is prepped with a sterile solution in order to keep the exposed part of your skin as clean as possible. Most often, the insertion point is in the mid-face region because there are not as many nerve endings within the subcutaneous tissues that are present there.

An initial incision is made on the mid-face to allow the entry of the InstaLift needle. The first end of the string is then inserted in the mid-face incision, and pushed to exit into the hairline above.

Using the same incision on the mid-face, the other end of the string is inserted, and the threat exits towards the nasolabial fold (the areas between your cheeks and lips). The same procedure is repeated and performed on the remaining insertion points on the opposite side of the face.

The number of strings needed for the treatment is dependent on your needs. On average, most people between forty to sixty years of age require a total of eight strings. This does vary depending on each case. The strings are then pulled up to create the necessary and appropriate lift.

The excess strings are then clipped right along the surface of the skin where they are exposed. The overall procedure takes an average of 30 to 45 minutes to perform.

Side Effects of Silhouette InstaLift

You may feel mild irritation from the sutures right after your treatment. It is possible to feel some slight discomfort. Although it is unpleasant, the inflammation that your body experiences actually contributes to the restoration of collagen in your skin.

Collagen production is a more gradual process. It forms over longer periods of time, repairing the lines of your face and providing positive long-term effects.

Swelling and bruising are also possible side effects of the Silhouette InstaLift treatment. Infection, transient nerve irritation, and temporary asymmetry are some of the additional risks. Feel free to schedule an appointment/consultation, and we will go through all of the potential hazards with you and address any further concerns or questions.

To guarantee the most optimal results, your doctor should offer you post-treatment instructions and an aftercare schedule for you to follow.

Silhouette InstaLift Results

People experience added volume in their face over the first three to four months after the procedure. The reason some of the benefits take a few months is because the procedure is creating collagen. More specifically, the poly-lactic acid within the InstaLift strings is what helps to create the collagen, which will over time improve the strength of your skin.

The Silhouette InstaLift is an FDA-approved facial recontouring treatment. Even though some of the benefits may take a couple months, patients will enjoy some immediate benefits as well. The face lift is visible just after one treatment as volume will gradually increase as collagen is produced.

It has become a breakthrough procedure as big as fillers and Botox. Doctors have been able to treat the wrinkles in the forehead and the eyes, in addition to any wrinkles that are caused by prolonged muscle movement.
