The VI Peel For Skincare: Everything You Need To Know

For those not looking for the average chemical peel, the Vi Peel might be for you. Regardless of your natural skin type, the Vi facial peel can help improve those who suffer from rosacea, acne, sun damage, acne scars, melasma and hyperpigmentation issues. The Vi Peel is made with a strong and unique blend of ingredients like salicylic acid, vitamin C, phenol, minerals, TCA, and retinoic acid which helps improve the skin’s texture and tone while enhancing the skin’s natural clarity and overall radiance that lasts for months after treatment.

It’s amazing when it comes to standing on its own as a treatment. However, it can also be a huge compliment to other aesthetic treatments like injectables and laser treatments.

The Vi Peel has been known to help erase wrinkles, enlarged pores, and fine lines while tightening with the production of collagen and elastin. Made possible with the unique mix of acids and vitamins, it has become the answer to melasma and uneven skin tone.

The Vi Peel

Created by Dr. Abdala F. Kalil initially to treat his daughter’s acne, the Vi Peel is the most talked about pharmaceutical-grade chemical peels on the market. It uses a combination of extremely effective acids that are unique from other chemical peels and pain-free. He is known for taking a chemical from painful to pain-free and not only make it effective but also available to be a staple in anyone’s beauty routine.

It is known that many A-list celebrities give Vi Peel credit for their flawless skin. It has been featured in the media and many national beauty magazines like US Weekly, The Oprah Magazine, Style, and Life & Style magazine. Not only for its treatment of acne scars, sun damage pigmentation issue and redness but for combating the signs of aging.

Vi Peel works like a lot of laser or chemical peels do. It creates small or micro-damages to the epidermis – the skin’s top layer – which causes it to peel off. This helps stimulate new tissue growth and brand new skin. One of the best qualities of the Vi Peel is that it contains an anesthetic that helps with any levels of discomfort that tends to come along with other chemical peels.

Clinical trials have shown amazing results throughout a variety of skin types and levels of fine lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation.

Keeping the Vi Peel as part of your regular skin care routine shows in studies to help keep your skin glowing, healthy and gorgeous. As well as:

  • Improvement of the appearance of Crow’s Feet
  • The appearance of fine lines & wrinkles were “statistically significant.
  • Participants showed a reduction in melanin content and increase in collagen content.
  • After two weeks of VI Peel use, participants showed an increase in hemoglobin, suggesting an increased blood flow to the treated areas.

Who Is A Good Candidate for the Vi Peel?

The ideal candidate will have fair to medium skin colors that are looking to improve mild to moderate damage like reversing the signs of early aging and heal acne. When it comes to darker skin tones, this treatment may cause hyperpigmentation.

It’s important to consult your doctor or healthcare provider to decide if your skin is a good candidate for the Vi Peel.

How Does It Work?

Depending on your skin sensitivity, certain skin types may experience a mild to moderate burning or tingling sensation that is entirely tolerable with the right pain management. It’s been noted that the Vi Peel is definitely tolerable without topical anesthetic or pain medication and you may have the options for a cooling device to minimize any discomfort instead.

The skin is first cleansed and the solution is applied evenly around the skin in two separate phases. The first phase is used to penetrate into the skin cells directly on the skin’s surface. The second phase to go deeper into the dermis to find the hiding toxins and dead skin cells.

Once the solution dries, which is fairly quickly, you are able to resume daily activities but must wait about 5 hours before completely washing the solution off your face.

How Long Does the Vi Peel Treatment Take?

The Vi Peel treatment can take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes.

What Are The Vi Peel Side Effects?

Because of the specifically formulated ingredients, the side effects for the Vi Peel have been documented to be very little. And skin sensitivity limited to a minimum.

The most common side effects found with the Vi Peel is a slight stinging sensation when the peel solution is first applied. However, once the first phase is being applied the numbing anesthetic kicks in a few moments following.

Following your peel, your skin will look darker or slightly tanned in yellow or red. The next two days following, you will feel your skin slightly tighter, without any signs of a peel. While some pigmented areas will appear slightly darker. About day three, the peeling will begin. Mostly around the mouth area. The peeling will cease around day six or day seven and the skin will look improved dramatically.

The effects of the Vi Peel are not immediate. It will take two to three days before the peeling will begin. Similar to a sunburn that is flaking off.

Are There Benefits to the Vi Peel?

Once the skin finishes peeling, minor improvements are visible on the surface. Full results will appear from 4 to 6 weeks. The benefits include firmer, clearer, smoother, and more youthful glowing skin than prior to the treatment.

As a part of post-treatment, special peling wipes with Retin-A and other minerals are given to help the skin peel and expedite results.

For ideal benefits the recommended course of treatment is 3 to 6 treatments spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart, followed by biannual maintenance treatments for optimal results

Post Treatment Care

Maintaining the treatment’s results is imperative. Following your Vi Peel treatment, moisturizing is extremely important. As well as limiting sun exposure. Much like daily beauty routines, it’s recommended or considered essential to use a SPF 30 or higher on any treated areas. Daily.

For after treatment, the only days when sun exposure should be completely avoided are days three and four. These are the days when the skin starts to and continues peeling. After those peeling days pass, some sun exposure will be fine. However, continuing your skin care routine is important and practicing sun protection daily should be top on the beauty routine list. After the fourth day of peeling, the skin will return to its normal PH levels. This is the dramatic reveal of the difference in your skin. You’ll notice a luminous and glowing skin tone and many issues like acne scars, hyperpigmentation, etc., will be dramatically improved, if not eliminated. All to reveal a more youthful, tone and texture and radiant appearance.

Can I Wear Make-Up After My VI Peel?

Normally the long-term goal is to eliminate the need for makeup, it can be worn after the Vi Peel solution has dried completely. Which is about two hours or more post Vi Peel treatment.

Will The VI Peel Make The Skin Thinner?

The skin actually thickens. By removing all the dead skin and aiding the body in recreating new skin cells at a faster rate, this helps the structure of the skin become more sturdy with the production of additional collagen and elastin.

How Much Peeling Will There Be?

The Vi Peel is generally a light peel. Starting on day three you’ll notice a light, fluffy peel that finishes by day seven. The peel can be hidden by moisturizer and in some cases, the peel is invisible to everyone else.

With patients that are using the help of Retin A, they may experience heavier peeling that can be modulated by your healthcare provider which produces a deeper or more aggressive peel, depending on your skin and skin condition.

Will There be Long-Term Results?

Like most procedures, the skin needs maintenance. The results of the Vi Peelwill last as long as the results are maintained with the Vi Derm Skin Care Line. The recommended maintenance is a Vi Peel performed about three to four times per year.

After the Vi Peel, being kind towards your skin is important. Avoid harsh products, lasers, exfoliating, and sun exposure for at least a week after treatment. And Sunscreen. ALWAYS sunscreen.

Avoid peeling your skin with your hands, allow the skin to peel naturally. Keeping this procedure as natural as possible. The Vi Peel is a safe and non-invasive way to improve many skin issues for many skin types. As well as be a wonderful accompaniment to other skin care treatments like dermal fillers or injectable treatments for added restoration.
