Botox Procedure by Balshi Dermatology in Delray Beach, FL
Balshi Dermatology in Delray Beach performs a Botox procedure with client Stacy.
Botox s a therapeutic dermatologist treatment called a “neuro-modulator”. This word describes the way in which they all diminish the appearance of wrinkles. By blocking a chemical between the nerve and muscle, these “neuro-modulators” prevent the contraction of that given muscle, thereby preventing the skin from folding and wrinkles from forming.
Botox is approved by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) for cosmetic use and share a similar mechanism of action.
This is a simple non-surgical procedure that can virtually eliminate lines around the eyes (Crow’s feet), between the eyebrows (frown lines) and forehead. It provides a natural, rejuvenated and refreshed look. BOTOX injections are performed without anesthesia because it is virtually painless.
Small amounts of BOTOX, are injected directly into the muscles and in just a few days the muscles relax and the wrinkles disappear. There is no surgery or downtime.
The effects are not permanent and may need to be repeated two to three times per year to retain the effects. Research has suggested, however, that long-term use of the injections leads to a longer duration of each treatment’s effect.
BOTOX is only useful in treating expression lines and cannot be used to repair sagging skin caused by aging.
BOTOX is extremely safe in the doses used for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes.
It has been used by millions of people for several decades in the United States and virtually every country around the world. Originally, Botox® was used to treat eye twitches. It is also used to treat vocal cords, gallbladder spasm, excessive palm or armpit sweating, and headaches.
Post-Treatment Information
After the treatment, patients may experience slight bruising around the area that was treated. This normally fades quickly. Normal activities can be performed immediately. BOTOX® Cosmetic is completely reversible so any side effect is only a temporary condition. Dr. Balshi will explain all risks associated at the time of your consultation.
